How we decide when to update
- New Extension publication — when Penn State, Cornell, Clemson HGIC, or the other land-grant programs we cite publish updated guidance, we revise the affected pages and re-list the citation.
- Seasonal correction — if a reader's experience or our own bed contradicts the article (a frost date moved, a recommended cultivar got pulled), we fix it.
- Reader question we couldn't answer in the article — if the /ask/ inbox shows the article didn't address something it should, we add a section.
- Outdated product or link — broken Amazon ASINs, discontinued cultivars, or moved Extension URLs trigger a sweep.
Every revision keeps the original publish date in the frontmatter; the `updated` field is what drives this page.
