Every plant in this filter is in the Xerces Society's regional pollinator plant lists or in the pollinator publications from Pollinator Partnership's ecoregional guides. Where attraction is species-specific (e.g., bee balm for hummingbirds vs. butterflies vs. bees), the most documented relationship is listed.
Native plants matter more than exotics for native bees. Per Xerces Society research, specialist native bees often can only feed on specific native plants. A garden of all exotic ornamentals supports honey bees and a few generalist natives but excludes ~30% of native bee species.
